ENGLISH VERSION/VERSIÓN EN CASTELLANO MÁS ABAJO.
’FieldPlayerV1 (Omiyage Edition)’ comes from the need for an audio player to complement the equipment I use live, and give some more audio outputs to already use with Ableton Live. In a princio was programmed in Max 5 for use in a computer with only Max 5 runtime (download ), so it was needed to access the configuration of the soundcard and thus select the most appropriate output. The design had to be simple with simple playback controls as I did in the composition of Omiyage (LEA, 2012), speed (forward and backward), stop, restart, for two players (2 tracks) by selecting the audio output of each through a crossfader.
Then I considered the possibility of moving FielPlayer to a low performance Tablet I recently bought and a mobile phone using Pddroid Party, an application created by Chris McCormick that allows to use some Pure Data patches on Android. The essence of ‘FieldPlayer Omiyage Edition’ is the same as in Max with the addition of the touch screen that allows you to ‘touch’ the sound. This also adds a new design based on the image of the album cover Omiyage (LEA, 2012) and a handful of selected audio files from Omiyage (LEA, 2012) to be handled with FieldPlayer.
FielPlayer omiyage Edition has been tested on a Sony Xperia with Android 2.1 and a tablet Creatize Ziio 7 with Android 2.2, neither has high performance in memory and audio. In operation there has been a little latency as well as a brief interruption of the audio signal when loading a file in one of the tracks while play another on the other track, which depends on the length of the file and the device being using. This is accentuated more in the Sony Ericsson Xperia than in the Creative Ziio 7. Audio samples accompanying FieldPlayer omiyage Edition have worked quite well on both devices.
There is a Pddroid Party test version for IOS but I haven’t tested it ( HERE), and I don’t know how FieldPlayerV1_Omiyage runs on Apple devices. I would appreciate it if anyone has a chance to try and send me a note with comments on it.
I am currently working on a new version of the patch with new features, including more effects and some controls to work with rhythms and textures.

’FieldPlayerV1 (Omiyage Edition)’ surge de la necesidad de disponer de un reproductor de audio que complemente el equipo que utilizo en directo, y dar unas salidas más de audio, a las ya utilizadas con Ableton Live. En un princio fue programado en Max 5 para ser utilizado en un equipo con sólo Max 5 Runtime(descargar ) , por eso tenía la necesidad acceder a la configuración de la tarjeta de audio y así seleccionar la salida más adecuada. El diseño tenía que ser simple con controles sencillos de la reproducción tal y como hice en la composición de Omiyage (LEA, 2012), velocidad (adelante y atrás), parada, reiniciación de la reproducción, para dos reproductores (2 pistas) seleccionando la salida de audio de cada uno de ellos a través de un crossfader.
A continuación me planteé la posibilidad de llevar FielPlayer a una tablet de bajas prestaciones que adquirí recientemente y a un teléfono móvil, utilizando Pddroid Party, una aplicación creada por Chris McCormick que permite utilizar determinados parches de Pure Data en Android. La esencia de FieldPlayerV1 (Omiyage Edition) es la misma que en Max con el añadido de la pantalla táctil que permite ‘tocar’ el sonido. A esto también se añade un nuevo diseño basado en la imagen de la portada del álbum Omiyage (LEA, 2012) y una selección de un puñado de archivos de audio de entre todos los que utilicé en Omiyage (LEA, 2012) para ser manipulados con FieldPlayer.
FielPlayer Omiyage Edition ha sido probado en un teléfono Sony Xperia X8 con Android 2.1 y en una tablet Creatize Ziio 7 con Android 2.2, ninguno de los dos tiene grandes prestaciones en memoria y audio. En su funcionamiento se ha observado una pequeña latencia, así como una breve interrupción de la señal de audio cuando cargamos algún archivo en una de las pistas mientras reproducimos otro en la otra pista, que depende de la longitud del archivo y del dispositivo que se esté utilizando. Esto se acentua más en el Sony Ericsson Xperia que en la Creative Ziio 7. Las muestras de audio que acompañan a FieldPlayer Omiyage Edition han funcionado bastante bien en ambos dispositivos.
Existe una versión de prueba de Pddroid Party para iOS que no he podido probar( AQUÍ), ni tampoco el funcionamiento de FieldPlayer Omiyage Edition en dispositivos Apple. Agradeceria que si alguien tiene la oportunidad de probarlo me enviase una nota con sus observaciones sobre su funcionamiento.
Actualmente estoy trabajando en una nueva versión del parche con nuevas características, entre ellas la inclusión de efectos y algunos controles más para poder trabajar con ritmos y con texturas.

Hoy termina Procés, al menos como diario, aunque seguirá online durante un tiempo y seguro que lo utilizo para dar a conocer algunas cosas que voy haciendo. Ahora es tiempo de mirar atrás y unir los puntos, ver si todos estos apuntes, recuerdos, ideas y demás llevan a algún sitio como el mapa que pretendía trazar. Por el camino han surgido nuevos proyectos e ideas que espero pueda materializar este 2012. Ganas no me faltan.
Además, en dos semanas empezará Cinetone’12, uno de los proyectos que más ilusión me hace siempre. Quizás esta vez más. Tal vez sea porque esta edición ha sido la que más ha costado materializar hasta la fecha, por diferentes razones que no voy a explicar ahora. Si estáis por aquí cerca espero veros en alguna de las proyecciones.

Proces ends today, at least as daily, but will remain online for a while and I’m sure I use it to make known some things I’m doing. Now it’s time to look back and connect the dots, to see if all these notes, memories, ideas and other take somewhere like the map I pretended to draw . On the way there are new projects and ideas that I hope will materialize this 2012. I do not lack the desire .
Moreover, Cinetone begins in two weeks, one of the projects that always makes me more excited. Perhaps this time more. Maybe it’s because this edition it took more effort to materialize it, for various reasons I will not explain now. If you are around I hope to see you at any of the projections.
